TIME

Do you wear a watch? I don't but a lot pf people do.

There’s a clock on your cell phone, the dashboardof your car, your computer screen and hanging on the wall in almost every room you will enter today.

Why are we humans so obsessed with knowing what time it is?

The reason is rather obvious, don’t you think? We only have so much time! That’s right; we only have so many hours in a day, days in a week, and so on. Once they’re gone, there is simply no way to get them back. So we schedule and plan according to the clock. We make appointments and arrangements. We calculate travel time, meeting time, mealtime, bed time and wake up time. We use a schedule because the last thing we want to do is waste time. We even try to schedule some down time and vacation time.

What does all this scheduling say about the value of time? Time is the essence of life.

There are plenty of things you can get by without, but time is not one of them. You can live for days without food and water. But you cannot live for one second without time, and that’s true no matter who you are. No amount of influence, power or money, can change the fact that, when your time is up, you are done.

Time is life itself.

Time is not limited to the productive side of life because everything in life requires some of our precious time. Relationships are built from time. Every experience represents a certain amount of time. Amazingly, we spend about a third of our total time allotment sleeping. Our humanity is all about how we spend our time.

The Bible echoes the importance of time. There are dozens of written truths about time. Just go to Yahoo.com and search, "what does God say about time".

May they inspire you to keep trusting God and stand firm in your faith.

Promise 1 - Answered Prayer

Many Christians could attest to the fact that having your prayers answered is not something that happens overnight. It’s a process of praying according to God’s will and persevere until we get results. As a consequence, many people become discouraged and they stop praying and give up.

IT IS WRITTEN that God our Father who sits on the most-high throne will listen to our cries and answer according to what He thinks is best for us. That’s the key thing that many of us forget: God will do what He finds best, and not what we think should happen. After all, He is God right? Are we as mortal creatures wiser than our immortal Creator? No.

I want to encourage you to never stop praying, hoping and waiting. God will answer in His due time and according to His will.

Lets review 5 well-known scriptures affirming that God does indeed answer prayers.

1) Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. Matthew 7:7

2) Cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

3) This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

4) If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. John 15:7

5) Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. James 5:16

Promise 2 - Healing

Since the fall of humans, all kinds of illnesses and diseases have been affecting our survival and welfare. It is our belief that God gave us medical science to help resolve many of these issues. But still, many people are suffering under the yoke of sickness. The nature of our existence we will expierence suffering in one form or the other in out lives.

But, don’t lose hope, because God said in His Word that He is more than able to heal our diseases and restore our bodies.

There are numerous examples of healing miracles in the Bible. Yet, many Christians today doubt about the wondrous, miraculous power of God. If God could have done it for them in the past, what makes us think that He can’t do it for us today? He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

Here are 5 Bible verses reminding us of the healing promises of God:

1) He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds. 1 Peter 2:24

2) Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them; and I will reveal to them abundance of peace and truth. Jeremiah 33:6

3) But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

4) Praise the Lord, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies. | Psalm 103:2-4

5) If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer. Exodus 15:26

Doubting Thomas

A doubting Thomas is a skeptic who refuses to believe without direct personal experience. It's a reference to the Apostle Thomas, who refused to believe that the resurrected Jesus had appeared to the ten other apostles, until he could see and feel the wounds received by Jesus on the cross.

"Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20-29

Life Lessons From Thomas

All of the disciples, except John, deserted Jesus at the cross. They misunderstood and doubted Jesus, but Thomas is singled out in the gospels because he put his doubt into words.

It is worth noting that Jesus did not scold Thomas for his doubt. Instead of rebuking Thomas, he had compassion for his human struggle with doubt. In fact, Jesus invited Thomas to touch his wounds and see for himself. Jesus understands our battles with doubt and invites us to come near and believe.

Today, millions of people stubbornly want to witness miracles or see Jesus in person before they will believe in him, but God asks us to come to him in faith. God provides the Bible, with eyewitness accounts of Jesus' life, crucifixion, and resurrection to strengthen our faith.

In response to Thomas' doubts, Jesus said that those who believe in Christ as Savior without seeing him, that's us, are blessed.

Prayer

Prayer is not meditation or passive reflection; it is direct address to God. It is the communication of the human soul with the Lord who created the soul. Prayer is the primary way for the believer in Jesus Christ to communicate his emotions and desires with God and to fellowship with God.

Paul wrote, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7). Worry about nothing; pray about everything.
Prayer is the practice of being in the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through the Son of God, Jesus our Lord.
Merriam Webster defines prayer as an earnest request or wish, an address or petition, to God.
God, cloth us in your light and love. Thank you Father for everything you have done for us and everything you will do in the future. Give us the courage to wake tomorrow and face the days challenges, whatever they may be. Protect us Father from tragedy. Carry us Father through this wonderful life with all it's ups and downs. Carry us all the way into your loving arms. In Jesus name, Amen.
